Krampus

Hi, World!

I figure if I post here then maybe someone will remember I exist, other than my son, and my fabulously wonderful husband.

I'm getting increasingly irritated at certain members of my family, and they know who they are, who keep promising me they will do something and then forgetting, seemingly intentionally. I don't feel like a part of my own family, and I know that is NOT how I should feel, nor be made to feel.

It's getting really annoying, and I am SICK of it.

WHY promise something if you don't mean it?!?

Unfortunate.....

I saw this on my Mums blog and thought I'd have a go.
The how to is really simple, go to Google and type in unfortunately followed by your name and see what comes up.
This is what I got:
  • Monthly pet care advice from Lucy Holland VN and the Pet Doctors team
  • Peakirk 18/01/2009 16:00:06 ... thinks he has right of way when joining a dual carriageway he is unfortunately mistaken.
  • born March 3, 1758.
  • unable to be present, owing to indisposition.
  • at the moment is very, very angry with Ricky over his faulty memory, and refuses to accompany him to the Mocambo

Aren't I the busy one!? x

Completely Useless!

..except it isn't. It's the 22nd! Therefore time to post my Orts for the completely useless exchange! There isn't much in mine, because I don't stitch very much, but I shall post it anyway!

On another note - it's my 21st birthday in a week!! x

Not much to say, really...

...but my sister is moaning coz I haven't posted in over a month!! She needs to remember she hasn't posted since July 2nd, haha. Almost a month *sticks tongue out*

Not much has happened, really. Had a few companies mess us around, and been getting post for people who haven't lived in my house for ATLEAST 18months. The one that annoyed me the most was Axa Sunlife, since I have sent around a dozen letters back to them with "Not at this address" on, so I called them. And got through to a call centre. Yes, you guessed it, an INDIAN call centre, in INDIA. GRRRR. I don't mind speaking to Indian workers on the phone - provided they speak understandable english - but I do NOT appreciate the fact I had to CALL India to speak to someone because some halfwit doesn't do their job properly and REMOVE my address from their system when I send their mail back to them!

Other than that there's nothing to say, really..

Happy now, Mel?????? xxxx

Oh My Gosh!

You'd think calling the phone company would be easy! GAH.
I got a new contract from O2, and called Orange to get my PAC code so I could keep the same number. So, of course, Orange now have created a contract for me, for the same price, but with more features. But they're being slow, and stupid about it. GAH. This is precisely why I wanted to switch companies!
O2: £9.79 a month 150 minutes and 300 texts
Orange: £9.79 a month 400 minutes and unlimited texts.
I have to say, I do like the Orange contract, but orange are so ANNOYING at times! Like NOW! The guy has so far put me on hold twice and asked me questions he didn't need to know the answer too, such as my age. I only wanted my PAC code, and I'm still on hold now, and tempted to tell him my bra size if he asks anymore stupid questions.
Ok, so, five minutes later and I'm off the phone. After all the palava of stupid questions and making contracts they turn round and say "We can only give the PAC code to the account holder" FUCKFACES. (Sorry Mum - I know you hate swearing!) My Dad set up the phone, so they'll only give the PAC code to him.
And I'm only trying to get my own contract because Dad said I should pay my own way now that I'm married!
The world is a nasty place sometimes, and Orange are *insert nasty word here*. I want to pay for my own phone, damnit!

So Proud

Warning - Proud Mum Moment!!
My Son Can Walk!!
I'm so proud it's unbelievable! I LOVE IT!
He can take a few steps - we haven't tried him with anything further, yet.
He can get up the stairs in less than a minute, too. He's mastered getting up that particular obstacle in two days flat!
So unbelievably proud!
In other news - I've been married for one month today :) Loving being a Wife!
Take care!

Day out, April 12th

Yes, I know. I should have posted earlier. But I forgot.

Anyway. These are some pictures from a day out to Stratford Butterfly Farm, with Hubs and my family.
This was the first picture I took. Caleb found my grans walking stick hilarious!

The first butterfly picture I took :)
I zoomed in to take this one :) It was on teh floor behind a bench :D x

Caleb's got a new friend, look. I think the butterfly thought the buggy was food!

And this butterfly was hanging upside down from a branch :D x

I've got LOADS more pictures, but I don't want to inundate my few readers with them all today. Plus I'm tired.
Zoink.
NaNu NaNu.
Speak Soon.

Wedding :)

My wedding was a great day, and I am now Mrs Lucy Holland, rather than Miss Lucy Latham. :D
Never been happier!
Piccies!!
My Cake, before it was devoured, thank you so much to Steve's Mum and her friend for making it :)
Steve and I, after we had signed the register, smiling away, happy as can be :)

This photo makes me smile. It's not often I can get Mel and Mum in a picture, let alone both of them in the SAME picture!
Same, again. Always makes me smile :)

And this is Caleb, demonstrating how we all felt. Perfectly demonstrating it, I might add. I know Steve and I were exhausted - we were both in bed by 10:45, which is really early for us!!

All in all it was an amazing day, all be it a long and tiring one. Definately the happiest day of my life, thus far!

I'll try not to leave it so long before I post again. Ciao for now!! xx

Wedding :)

So. We booked our wedding this morning :) For April 11th. Three weeks on saturday :) At 10am. Everyone keeps asking me if I think it's too soon, and if I have anything ready. It's like they don't trust me to think for myself. And, no, Mum, and Gran, I don't mean you. I mean people that don't read this blog.

Like I keep saying, and like people have said to me (You know who you are) It's MY wedding. I can organise it for WHEN I like. Not when everyone else WANTS me to have it. MINE and STEVE'S. OURS.

Rant Over.

Caleb can stand up on his own now. Without holding on :) He'll be walking soon :) I can and I can't wait :) I want him to start walking, but at the same time, I will have to chase him around the house all the time lol. I'm so proud of him. He's learning to talk too. So far we have 'Mum', 'Dadada', 'I' (Hi), and the occasional 'buhbye'. He can wave now too :)
That's all til next week :) xx

Carpet!

Yes, you saw right! We have carpet now - in the hall and on the stair and landing, and in Caleb's room, at least. The carpet there had to be laid by the profeesionals (It was paid for by our support team, rather than ourselves, and that was the only condition) but we are laying the rest ourselves, or rather Steve is, when I am away at the end of the month. That carpet and underlay along with the door thingies (the silver bars) is being delivered on Saturday afternoon, so we have it ready.

It's been somewhat of a DIY Week in our house this week - and a busy one at that. Obviously, we had the carpet today, but we've been putting shelves up too. At first we couldn't because we didn't have a drill, then we didn't have the right drill bit once we bought a drill. Then we got the right drill bit but the drill itself doesn't have the power to drill into brick. So we ended up borrowing Steve's Dad's drill anyway! So the shelves will get put up this weekend, and then the hoover will get its first airing in this house. I know that sounds really bad, because we have lived here over a year, but up until now we have only had bare floorboards or rugs, and even where the rugs were, there hasn't been much space to fit a hoover through, because we hadn't ventured into the attic to store excess stuff! We done that now, and there is noticably more space - especially in Caleb's room. We're going to put his stairgate up this weekend (It's going across his bedroom door - so now he won't always have to be in the front room where he gets bored because he is confined to a smaller space (until we get carpet) - and then he can roam around in his room to his hearts content, and we can leave his door open so we can hear him, rather than having his monitor on all the time!

Enough from me for now, speak soon! x

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

I know.

Forgive me. It's been AGES since I posted last!
I've not really had anything to say, to be honest.
Not much now either, lol, but I thought I'd post a general update anyway.

On the money side of things, the Jobcentre have, once again, managed to cock up. They overpaid us by about 3 months on the Income Support (apparently - they never actually told us!!) and so cancelled the claim without warning, leaving us with NO money at all. We've applied for Job Seekers Allowance, but we put our claim in on the 17th of February and have heard nothing yet. When we called them to find out what was happening on Friday the 27th, they told us they were still dealing with claims from the 12th of February. Not much good to us now is it. So we still have no money to feed any of us on. Luckily, we get Healthy Start Vouchers for Caleb's Milk, but he'll be moving on to Cows Milk in the next few weeks, so that's going to start costing us more!
Hopefully the Jobcentre will pull their fingers out soon, and actually DO their Job!

On a lighter note, Caleb now has a 5th tooth. Another one on the top, next to the first two he got. He's been a bit more of a nuisance with this one than he was with the others, but I've been giving him Calprofen and it seems to have helped!

On an even happier note - I'm going to visit my Family for a few days at the end of the month :) Haven't seen them since the beginning of December, so it will be good. Hoping to meet up with a friend of mine while I am up there too - she's one of Caleb's GodMothers.

Have a nice week, and I'll post again soon! x

I Know, I know!

It's been over a week. I know. But I've been busy. Everyone has been messing us around this week. The old Landlords, the council, the Gas safety company. And to top it all off, the weather, while fun, has been horrendous, as I'm sure you know!
I tell you, pushing a buggy through 5 inches of snow is no easy task!! I have some major muscles in my arms and legs from doing it now though!! It doesn't help that people clear their cars into huge piles of snow in the middle of the path, of course. If they cleared it into more of a series of piles down one side of the path I'd get somewhere, but I had to *literally* weave my way down the path to get to the end of the road! AND then I had to navigate the roads, because the traffic lights went down. The system got snowed in. SO many people seem to think that because the lights are out they never have to stop! We spent 5 minutes at a crossing the other day, that, if the lights were working, we would have crossed in less than a minute.

This is a really short post, I know, but here is another pic of some finishes. Steve's again! I've been working on an exchange piece, so, for obvious reasons, I can't post it yet! I'll post it once I know it's been received at the other end!! (Considering I've not sent it yet, that could be a while!)

Anyway, feast your eyes on these beauties. The Taz was his FIRST EVER finish. The Pokeball was done after the sonic that is in the last post!

Until Next week! xx

Wedding, Cairo, and Cross Stitch!

It's official. (Almost).
My Birth Certificate came in the post the other day, and so Steve and I are saving up to pay for out wedding. We'll have enough to book it and pay for it by the end of February. So we'll be getting married this year. Before October. There is reason for the time limit.

We can go to Cairo for a little over 800 pound, in October, for a week, which will be our honeymoon. We've both wanted to go to Cairo for ages, and it seems like the perfect oppurtunity, now. So, we're saving up, and asking for money towards it, rather than wedding presents, so that we can book it and go!

As Peter Kay would say, Book it, Pack it, F**K off! (Sorry Mum!)

On the Cross Stitch front, it's a HD for Steve. He finished this little number in a matter of days, and it's a lot better than his first cross stitch. The back on his first was a mess, but this one is really good. And it's only his second cross stitch!! The camera on my phone isn't so good, so sorry for the bad quality. I'll be getting a digital camera before we go to Cairo!

See you soon!!

Nothing much to update.

Ok, I know. It's been 8 days. I thought I'd written in here last friday, not thursday. Oops. Atleast I haven't left it for MONTHS and MONTHS!!

There isn't really much to update, to be honest. I've finally caught up on the washing, and I now have Sky TV, but that's literally about it. Oh, and I'm sending off for my Birth Certificate next week, so Steve and I can get married!! I can hardly wait!!

See you in a week!!

Within a Week!

Well. The mound of washing is slowly decreasing, so that's on the up!

Caleb has a fourth tooth. It has cut through within the last couple of days, but I didn't notice until today. He's going to look so cute soon, when it gets a bit longer, and you can see all four! Hehe, I can't wait!

On a slightly sadder note, my fiancée Steve's Dad is in hospital, but they don't know what wrong with him. They thought it was Pneumonia, but when they did the x-ray they couldn't see it, and according to the doctor they would have been able to see "a pneumonia" on the x-ray. So we're just hoping he'll be OK. We took Caleb to see him today, and it certainly lifted his spirits, seeing his grandson for an hour. He looked a lot happier when we left than he did when we got there.

Been watching Krypton Factor on TV lately. It sure is good to see it back. Same with Lark Rise to Candleford.

For those of you that used to watch Sugar Rush, we found out why there wasn't a series 3. It was all planned and the cast had all agreed to it. Channel 4 decided that they didn't have a viewing slot for it. Yet they can repeat Friends every morning, and they put Big Brother on three times a day too. Stupid people. If they pulled their finger out then their ratings would rocket! They need to get a grip on life. We also discovered that they axed another Gay type programme, at around the same time. So we're thinking that maybe they are trying to please the people that don't agree with Lesbians and Gay Men. AND THEN, Channel Four said that series 3 was NEVER planned. Bloody Sods. Axing the good shows, and replacing them with rubbish!

Anyway. Rant Done.

Talk to you within a week! xxx

Update.

OK. Now I know I have more readers than just my Sister and My Mum (Hi Tawny - *waves*), I guess I'll make EVEN MORE of an effort to write in here! I shall make it a *late* New Years Resolution to write in here ATLEAST once a week!

Caleb has a third tooth now, but it's not big enough to see if I take a picture, as it isn't fully grown out yet. His first and second are still uneven, bless him. When I can, I'll take a picture. It's not hugely noticable, but boy did we know about it. It's the only one so far that has bothered him enough to wake him up at night, but now that it's come through it's back to his normal sleep pattern.

We got a new washing machine yesterday, and I have so far done 5 loads of washing. We've not had a working washing machine since august, and my future Mother in Law has been doing one or two loads of washing a week for us, just so we had enough clothes to live in! We have loads to catch up on though, so I've been washing and washing, and it's all drying on the airer and on radiators. It's good, because our house has to be quite warm, because of Caleb, so the washing dries quite fast even when it's not on the radiators.

On a different note, this film I'm watching is really odd. It's called Snow Cake. It's got Alan Rickman in it, and it's good, but wierd!!

Anyway, signing off to watch the film properly.

See you within a week! (Hopefully) x
